Investment 2004. Frank's retirement, June 24 2004

Plant Investment for 2004 Complete
The final phase of investment in our plant for 2004 has now been completed with the installation of Muller Martini’s state of the art Merit S trimmer onto our Tigra Binding Line, replacing the Muller Martini 240 trimmer.

The Merit S compliments the existing Muller Martini 1571 Gathering Machine and Tigra Perfect Binder (installed in 2000). The Merit takes our binding production line into the 21st Century. It gives us much more flexibility in the size of book we can produce one up (see table below) making the whole production process slicker. Our make-ready is now hassle-free and as a result our set-ups times have been greatly reduced, providing us with more capacity.

The Tigra and Gathering Machine have now been with us for four years and have undergone a full service to bring them in line with new trimmer. We have also completed overhauls on our folders which have also had new rollers fitted throughout.

Point Control will strive to maintain the high quality standards it has set keeping an eye on the future, and plans further investments in the best machinery available for the small to medium run perfect binding market.

Frank's retirement
On 24th June 2004, Frank Pilling our Sales consultant retired. He joined us in April 1999 and worked on a semi-retired basis working a three-day week. It was a sad day as most of us have worked with Frank for many years.

We wish him and his wife Marlene good health and a long and happy retirement. We are sure that the golf club will see a lot more of him now.

Julie Leishman, Sales and Marketing Manager, will continue to liase with you and deal with your quotes. Julie works part-time we have listed her hours in the table below. In Julie’s absence please ask for Richard Berwick, Managing Director, who will be happy to deal with your enquiries.
